This is a great bed set. I ordered a set of bedspreads because I like the weight. No, it is not a comforter. He is skinny. I prefer that, it's a bug, not a feature. The floral band is vertical, not horizontal. You can put it on the bed however you like, because the king is *almost* square, but technically it has to stand upright. If you place the flowers vertically, they fit snugly on top of the mattress and hang down like a platform. Larger mattresses will require matching sheets or a feather duster, but I find this set works best for modern bedrooms. The throw pillows are so cute and I think yellow suits them. Maybe I'm just old? Great quality, great design, great price. Buy it.
