The whole set is made of cheap material. As a firmware newbie, I was very excited to try this kit. I quickly realized that you get what you pay for. The knob on the punch's adjustable needle isn't tight enough to hold it in place, so the needle retracts into the barrel with each punch. The fabric supplied (which should be Monk's fabric) is so stiff that it's impossible to properly tighten the hoop. The weave of the fabric is also too wide so the stitches don't grab and come out right away. The beauty of a perforating needle is in the texture of the art that you can't achieve with the fine thread that goes with it. Do yourself a favor and buy an adjustable wooden needle, real monk (or linen) cloth, a decent wooden hoop, and thick thread.
