The 67xx series is much better.

Aastra 6869i is Aastra's flagship phone in the latest line of phones (6800i series). As the newest line, the 6800i series should be the best. Unfortunately, this is not the case, for the following reason: 1. The ringer volume will not be low enough: Previous Aastra phones, including the 6700 series, had a wide variability in ringer volume. You can easily set the bell up so that you hardly hear it when you're sitting right next to it, and there were a lot of steps above it. For the 68xx series, the lowest ringer volume is too loud and cannot be turned down. If you have your phone in an open workspace or cubicle, or you just don't want your phone to disturb you when you're away from your desk, this can pose a problem.2. DTMF too loud. If you are using the speakerphone and need to press the touch tone button, DTMF will also be played too loud. With the 67xx series, the sound of the timbre was pleasant. On a 6869 phone, you need to turn the speaker volume down, and if you want to hear the person you're calling, you need to turn the volume back up.3. Headset volume is too high: When using a headset that is plugged directly into the headset jack on the phone, you cannot turn the volume down enough to avoid damaging your hearing after a long call. In earlier phone models, Aastra included a configuration file option that allowed you to reduce the volume of the headset, handset, microphone and side effect. However, Mitel has decided not to give users of this model these options.4. Screen too small: The screen of this phone is smaller than the screen of the 6737i. While the 6869i has a color screen, adding color only makes text harder to read. What's worse, since the screen is smaller, the text is smaller too. The user interface is also much more difficult to use than the 67xx.5 series. Only two hardware line keys: The 67xx series had FOUR line keys. There are only two of these in the 68xx series. The phone has interchangeable keycaps, so you can reprogram the caller button and redial button (both of which are part of the softkeys anyway), but you'll also need to manually configure Line3 and Line4 to match the global SIP settings in the phone settings. For the 67xx series, the global settings have been applied to the first four lines. Generally a lot of work to be able to handle 3 or 4 calls at the same time. The 6869i has a few advantages, but not enough to make me want to use it as a regular phone. The whole phone is black, which looks more modern and sleek than the 67xx series. The audio quality on the handset is also much better and is probably on par with Polycom phones. Since I use a Sennheiser headset most of the time, this advantage doesn't really matter to me. IF you can turn the ringer setting down and the headset volume down, I would consider this phone for regular use. Until then, I'll go back to my 6757i and 6737i as everyday phones.
