Review on Enhanced Performance: Volant 12856 Cool Air Intake Kit for Optimal Air Flow by Jon Conner

Arrived in a box that looked like it came from Ace Ventura. You would think for the money they would pack it better. The fit isn't perfect, on my air duct and on the position of the MAF sensor. Volant needs to solve the problem with the seals and their installation. This would be easy to fix. A thicker sealing tape/gasket provides a better seal. I recommend purchasing additional sealant before installing to fill the gaps around the fender and air duct. Looks cool, time will tell how it works. Valance should also offer a filter option upon purchase. For just under €300 I would have wished for a maintenance-free off-road filter. But the one that came with the kit is a decent filter. Definitely better looking than most air intakes at about the same, if not a little less, price. Update: Customer service was great. They sent a new channel, no hassle. for all. Thumbs up. The truck definitely feels livelier. It seems to be breathing better. Better throttle response, acceleration. I didn't notice anything special about the sound, it always sounded aggressive. Definitely has a "whistle" after engine shutdown (like most secondary air intakes). Looks better than most for the same price or more. Pretty simple build. I'm happy.
