Update - Received Replacement. The package was clearly opened. Same problem, won't unplug the 28-pin chip. There is no more room for compression. I upload an image. I have both devices here. So I know I want to send the same. Let me start by congratulating all those people who claim they don't know what other people are talking about (who can't get this thing to work). This is not my first chip extractor. Unfortunately I lost the original. I bought another one and it's the same but it sucks. It doesn't rip the chip off the board. I can't get 28 pin DIP chips from the socket or breadboard. (I know my original only draws from outlets, but I figured if it wasn't for one, maybe the setup would allow for the other. No.) This is probably the most common usage for those seeing Atmeg328's omnipresence. Let me repeat, it's not. My first rodeo. For some reason this 28 pin chip won't pull from the socket. It will grab it like any dime or 3D printed puller, but it won't take it off the board. No, the chips are not "too thick". When the puller has started to grab the chips, the lever will be in its maximum position and there will be no more room to squeeze. There must be. This should allow me to instantly compress and "pop" the MCU. nope I keep it simple and laugh as I pull and flex the pins and wonder why I spent money on this junk. Then I remember that when they work, they make my life so much better. So yes I returned it. Hope the next one will be better. The bad reviews are fully justified. But if you get a good one, it's worth it. If you write a bad review, try exchanging it instead.
