Very similar to the consistency of lipstick as one reviewer mentioned. It practically doesn't smell. After application and drying, it is not erased in any noticeable amount. Very temporary. Lasts 1-4 days depending on where it is applied. The chest/neck area will take 1-2 days. Ears and face remain for several days longer. The lighter your dog is, the lighter their color will be. Great for adding color to an event. Washes off hair/fur very quickly with soap and water. Works on humans too. After use, hair may become a little stiff. It will also work for a crazy kids hair day at school. Overall very happy with this purchase and I would buy again!
