Key lost? No problem

So I have a family member who keeps losing his room key and has to keep locking his room because of other family members. So I wanted to give them something that would make a great gift to fix that. After searching the internet for something cheap and working, I came across this product. I did some research and decided it was good enough and concluded that when I received it it was more than that. There were 2 keys in the kit, she hid one and I have the other but. why use them now if we don't lose our fingers XD. It fits right into an old door hole with no additional cutting required. Not that it doesn't have its downsides, sometimes it doesn't register right away, giving you a red ring and a beep before having to click on it again. The wait takes nanoseconds, but the problem is that I can't find a way to turn off the beep when the saved fingerprint can't be read. Which can be a bit annoying at night, to say the least. But it definitely doesn't crash often enough to be a whole problem, just a minor annoyance and if only it adds the same fingerprint as other 'users' multiple times and it stops. Another issue that was probably my fault was trying to install the button on the back where you have to add the batteries and hold it to lock, unlock and reset from the outside. No matter what I did for a while, it just refused to properly sit down and connect. It could be the wiring, maybe I didn't connect it properly, I had to do it a few times to get it working properly and consistently, but after that there was no problem. Regardless, it was a great product and I plan to purchase another one specifically for my room and pantry soon enough. Programming is a bit fuzzy at first until you get used to it, but after that adding and removing fingerprints is a breeze, it's just a small learning curve, especially without a simple app to mess around with all those settings. But when it's done, it works great. Once it died while we were away and I had to hook it up to my phone to give it temporary power, that was about the time we received the unit and figured we'd find places to put the keys unintentionally hide them in the room. Saved me from a trip to a two-story house through the window. I just plugged it in and added my fingerprint. After that I put in new batteries and everything is ready, great feature. Pros Fairly easy to install - Super slim aesthetic that looks great - Fits in a standard doorknob opening meaning no extra cutouts - Easy to grip by naturally placing your hand in a position to take the pressure for most hands scan anyway so your hands don't twist. backup key in case of failure. 2 included. Is it possible to open it by fingerprint if the keys are lost and the device is discharged with a battery bank or phone via the charging port on the side. - Internet or power outage? It still works because it runs on batteries and a chip. Cons - not an easy app to manage - one size more or less fits all, although much smaller children or adults with slight size limitations may find it difficult to unlock if you want to give them access - annoying beep when locking and unlocking or bad fingerprint who don't can be disabled - The lock button next to the number can be awkward during installation and may need to be tried again. I'll note that technically this is clearly intended to be primarily for cheap hotels, but all in all it's a worthwhile buy for general home use if you're looking for a cheap but effective fingerprint doorknob just to get your fingers in the door to get stuck (sorry for the pun) if you can take a very slight snag without the app or the wireless function and the beep. Which one can be disabled and I have yet to figure out how.
