Review on Husky 81146 2 Bike Hitch Mount by Derek Davie

Although I bought this product in 2018 I did not use it until last weekend. About 30 minutes into the ride, I watched in horror as my $700 Specialized Roll bike fell off the stand and disintegrated at 70 mph on the interstate. My wife's bike would have gone too, but luckily it got stuck and just dragged 200 meters instead of breaking off completely. As I loaded the bikes for the ride, I tightened the torque knob as tight as I could. After 30 minutes it was loose enough for the bikes to come loose. I picked up the wreck, reattached it to the trunk, and we drove another 10 miles to the next exit. When we got off, the pull handle loosened again, but not enough to drop things. I bought a roll of duct tape and attached the bike's top tubes to the rack so I could ride to my destination. I bought this stand because it was smaller and lighter than the high quality saree stand I have owned and have safely used for years. This is a $700 lesson, you get what you pay for. This rack is cheap and dangerous. Purchase at your own risk.
