Review on Enhance Early Learning with the VTech First Learning Activity Table by Brent Mosley

Try to fix it before replacing or throwing it away!

Husband fixed it for our grandson! He removed the back. Seeing no disconnected wires, he examined the circuit boards and found that there was corrosion under the largest circuit board. So he used isopropyl alcohol to clean the board. (He uses this type of alcohol at work to clean circuit boards.) After that, all functions worked properly. Luckily my husband works as an electronics engineer. He searched the internet for help to "fix" the problem, but to no avail. He just wasted his time trying to solve the problem. The repair took about an hour, including loosening and replacing 22 screws. It's so nice that the music plays as it should in the Leap Frog Little Office Learning Activity Center. Music now plays when the ball spins. In addition, the light now works properly and the answering machine works. And the settings switch works correctly! Bought at grandson's birth; but it didn't open until he started pulling himself up and standing up. So the warranty has expired! We were willing to pay Leap Frog to fix it; However, they do not have a repair shop. I think a popular toy company like Leap Frog should have a refurbishment department, or at least point us to a refurbishment location. Therefore we think a lower rating is appropriate. We are grandparents from another time when items were repaired, or at least tried to be repaired, before being replaced. Despite the fact that it seems to be a well-designed toy (grandson loves to spin the ball on it); we wouldn't buy it again. too many feedbacks about problems noticed at the time of purchase or shortly thereafter.
