I searched for a few hours before deciding on this product. I originally wanted metal, but they all didn't seem very durable to me. This item was solid enough, I never felt like heavy items could fall through, even though everything is made of hard plastic. It looks and feels like it will stand the test of time. Took about 10 minutes to assemble, no tools required, everything fitted together. You can also change the height of the rack. However, first decide which direction you want the shelves to go, as they are very difficult to assemble. When the cart was fully loaded I lifted each side individually and the shelves never seemed to snap off. The wheels are also made of hard plastic and roll easily on floors and carpets when fully loaded, but much more slowly on carpeted floors. I hope this information has helped. UPDATE: I loved the cart so much I bought another one and added shelves to my existing cart to make it taller. It's been a few months now and it runs great, doesn't feel like it'll fall off when pulled out and no rolling issues with all that extra weight.
