Small, light and can scan a double-sided page to an SD card.

I bought this scanner to make it easier to digitally back up my home documents and reduce paperwork. The scanner's battery life is decent for my purposes, and the scan-to-SD card feature makes it easy to clean up without too much disruption. I didn't try the Wi-Fi option as the SD card is just as handy. The included software works, but not as well as commercial software like Adobe Acrobat. It's good for organizing individual scanned pages into a larger document, but it's unwieldy. If the paper…

Excellent quality as a repair unit. Why pay more for Doxy?

Excellent refurbished product. I didn't want to pay full retail price for this fully featured duplex scanner but as a refurbishment it was an absolute steal. I have various devices that I use it with. Some don't have an SD card reader, so the built-in WiFi comes in very handy. Although the Wi-Fi setup instructions are a little vague, after a few minutes of research online I figured out how to use it as a "pass-through" wireless device. This will drain the battery fairly quickly. So if I have an

Difficult setup on Mac - not compatible with Catalina

I'm pretty good with computers. This is the second Brother product I have bought as it is Mac compatible. I specifically wanted the BR Receipts program because it relates to Quicken. I was hesitant to buy it because of my past customization experience. However, Brothers products work well once you set them up. In both cases I had to call technical support. The setup process is not easy and the time spent on it is unbearable. I had to wait a long time to speak to Brother in person and it's…

Suitable for 300 dpi handheld scanners

The description says 600 dpi and the settings have the option of 300 dpi and 600 dpi. 600 dpi is only increased to 300 dpi in this product, there is little to no difference between the two settings. I bought this particular device for a slightly better image than the less portable 300dpi scanners, but that's true with them. Beyond that, I will live. It's incredibly easy to use, I can quickly and easily create an image, I appreciate the adjustable guide bar on the front and the well-placed…

Not as expected. Make sure it's what you REALLY want.

In the FAQ on the Brother website and in use, you will find that scanned images that are saved directly to an SD card have a grayish background that is very noticeable when printed. The much publicized ScanHub program they link to is a third party program NOT endorsed by Brother and Brother is quick to let you know if you complain about its shortcomings e.g. B. that it does not work on at least some Android devices. Also, it looks like it is no longer maintained by the developer. who do you…

Great scanner. Not ideal for Linux users

I bought this to reduce the amount of paper in our filing cabinet. I wanted to be able to easily retrieve digital copies of our old invoices instead of lugging around paper. Pros: 1) Scans relatively quickly. It's not a speed monster, but it's better than using a flatbed scanner 2) Images look very good 3) Scans easily on both sides 4) Can scan over paper length 5) Colors come out well 6) Can work with JPG or PDF 7) Battery works LONG. I literally scanned for 3 hours on a single charge. 8) The…

My experience with the Brother RDS-920DW

I am satisfied with this scanner. I have few complaints. My use: I usually scan in ReadIRIS for MacOS XI, I usually use an SD card, then move the SD card to a Mac and then load the PDF or JPG files into ReadIRIS Pro*. I don't usually scan USB and rarely use the Wi-Fi feature - WiFi is ok, not a very useful feature but not terrible. Sometimes when I scan duplex via USB, the back side comes up with inverted white to black and vice versa, which is quite annoying. So usually, to my heart's delight,

Good scanner, but many flaws.

Main Disadvantage: This scanner cannot connect to the network. As a result: * If you want to transfer your files wirelessly, you must disconnect from the Internet (even if it's wired), transfer the files, and reconnect to the Internet. * Wi-Fi is slow and fairly unreliable. It often stopped in the middle of a file transfer even though the connection was still there. You'll have to disconnect, reconnect, and restart the current file.* One thing that doesn't help is that the PDF files are pretty…
