The placemat itself appears durable and very easy to clean, but I also received a defective placemat with the misspellings of Arctic and Kazakhstan. The picture online also doesn't show that it's more opaque/see through, so the colors are not as bright as I had hoped. If it makes a difference, the border of mine is purple, different from the blue in the photo and there is no non-slip back that is advertised. Perhaps they have updated it in the past month and I just got one from the bad batch. My son loves looking at the different continents and pictures though, so we will just keep it rather than deal with the hassle of returning.Update: down to 2 stars. Doesn't withstand toddler use at all. The image has gotten scratched up and we will have to throw it away.
