There is a flaw in the design of the backrest so that it doesn't fit correctly into its slots. Because of this, you cannot screw both sides into place. The right side of the backrest doesn't fit all the way into the slot and so the screw does not reach far enough to connect to the backrest.On the second chair, the swivel plate would not connect properly to the legs. To connect the plate to the chair legs, there are four points of contact; one pair for each of the two leg pieces. Either the plate was warped or the legs were not level. In either case, the plate would not rest level such that three of the contact points rested properly, but the fourth was always up above its place. I could push down on the plate to force it to contact and screw it into place, but as soon as I let go the stress on the short screw was too much and it was pulled out of place. This chair cannot be assembled the way I received it.
