Almost perfect for dual monitor support for 2 computers

I bought this KVM to connect my work laptop to a more comfortable dual monitor desktop with ergonomic keyboard, mouse, speakers, microphone etc. And so I could just leave the laptop closed in the corner and switch to it like it was just another desktop. This is how it worked for me. After making some test settings before routing, I noticed that my desktop works fine. Working laptop. not as much. However, part of this was related to the dock used. However, after receiving this setup, I experienced intermittent flickering on the second monitor no matter what. It was incredibly annoying. I ended up adding some ferrite cores around the expensive replacement high power DP cables I also bought to try to solve the problem. It worked most of the time but still flickered. But at least it was usable. Fast forward to earlier this week and I got a new laptop. This time a MacBook Pro. With this setting, the second monitor flickered so much that it was completely unusable. I ended up buying a DP signal booster from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D949F59). Cable is important 8K display port. something something Anyway, that's what I should have gotten from the start instead of spending tons of money on new cables and other stuff. It worked the first time and now there is no more flickering. Buttons work well And since all the cables are on the back of the unit, installation and configuration is pleasant and not as cluttered if you can route the cables and manage excess slack neatly. Special KVM cables can come in handy here (like some 1.5" KVM cables or something very small). Overall I am very happy with the purchase after adding the necessary upgrades. Pros: * It works well with some updates. * Looks good on a desk if you can easily route the cables from the back. Cons: * I also had to purchase KVM cables which did not come with this switch. I see some advantages in picking my own cables, but having them included would be nice.
