I sold all my full frame stuff and big lenses just wanted a good camera that's small. I bought the NEX 7 but was very disappointed with the 18-55 kit lens. I was just frustrated that I couldn't buy what I thought was a quality lens for this camera. The only one I could find is a Zeiss 24mm and it's nowhere to be found. So I looked at Sony 18-200 and Tamron. Anything should be better than the kit. I chose Tamron because of the smaller size and the same performance. Tamron now also has a fix for panorama mode. I have to say that I am very impressed with this lens. It's not a Canon L, but it's very well made and the pictures come out much better than the kit, that's the main thing. For the money this is probably the best buy for your Nex. There will (maybe) be better Sony G lenses in the future, but look no further for now. I've always used proprietary camera lenses, so I was skeptical - not anymore. The size of the lens is also not satisfactory, I like it better. Update May 28, 2012 My lens works fine in panorama mode.
