My son is 16 months old; So I figured this would be a good size shoe for summer; However, he is so large that he either slips off his feet or stumbles. He is slightly shorter for his age (wearing 12 month old clothes); So maybe that was a misjudgment on my part. Given the options available, I thought 12-18 months was reasonable. I am keeping it and am hoping that it will grow up a bit so we can use it before summer is over. We are still in May; so there's still time before it gets too cold in the Northeast US (where we live).
