This is a portable cooker canister. The advantage of these stoves over those that mount directly to the fuel canister is that you can safely use the windscreen, which greatly improves the stove's efficiency, especially when it's windy outside. The stove is pretty stable with the pot on it and looks like it could hold a very heavy pot. I don't think there will be any problems with a cast iron pan or dutch oven. The rotary knob controls the flame smoothly and precisely, from a tiny simmer to a roaring furnace. I've had no problem cooking rice and other foods that require a gentle flame. I haven't tested the cooking time but it seems to be on par with other ovens of this type. The kit included a separate piezo lighter that unfortunately didn't work. However, it is easy to light it up with a lighter. I would like the piezo system to be integrated into the oven, as is the case with many ovens of this type. My main issue with this oven is that it is very heavy compared to other ovens of this type. I weighed it at 11.5 ounces. For comparison, my Dragonfly stove weighs 12 ounces (without the pump). Of course, this stove is not suitable for hiking, but a dragonfly is better for everything else. I don't quite understand why it's so heavy because I've seen another similar oven that weighed 4.76 ounces. One of the advantages of this stove is that you can use adapters that allow this stove to use cheaper butane bottles like hairspray and green propane tanks. . These adapters are probably a good investment as isobutane cans are very expensive. Propane tanks are about four times cheaper.
