After spending a lot of time trying to find the best way to keep my cellphone in the car, I came across this device. I knew I didn't want anything on the windshield or dashboard, but something that was firmly attached to the car. All investigations focused on this unit. My car is a 2003 BMW 530i and I spend a lot of time driving it every day. Calling during the day can be a real hassle due to traffic in some areas and this device makes things a lot easier. Due to the position of the seat screw at BMW, the series offer (see ) could not be used. However, Arkon provides you with two different mounting plates (included in the scope of delivery) that will make your work easier. By removing the original (pictured) base from this unit and using the L-Bracket I was able to mount this unit to the inside wall of the center console. 4 screws for mounting bracket and PRESTO! Ready! The mount is extremely durable. Almost to the point where it's difficult to manipulate into position, but that's a good thing. It is tight and VERY safe in the car. The phone stand slides on easily and is easy to tighten. The phone stand is sturdy and comfortably holds your phone (even with a protective case). After installation, it remains only to set the desired position. I highly recommend this device to anyone who wants to permanently mount a phone mount in their car or truck! PROS: Extremely durable, easy to install, looks great and works great. CONS: The standard mount may not work with all vehicles. In some cases, additional tools (wrenches or heads) are required for installation.
