Gray color is not as dark as expected; It could of course be a problem with the monitor. Out of the box, the quality of materials and workmanship turned out to be good. I didn't notice any protruding threads, the material is soft. I really wish there were ties inside to hold the duvet in place but I knew there wouldn't be based on the description of the item and just pinned a few ties myself which works pretty well. I would probably give 4 stars if it wasn't for a major downside. After lying in my bed for a few weeks, the color stains from all the pillowcases and the "head" of the duvet disappeared. I don't sleep with makeup on and this happened on both sides of the bed (ie where my older brother sleeps). He did not get out of the wash that way, and washing from the moment the discoloration appeared did not help. My only thought as to why this is happening is that the fabric dye cannot resist the oil from the skin. Discolorations are very noticeable and unsightly. Revain sent me a replacement which I will try. If the new set does not have this issue I will update my review but I cannot recommend this product at this time.
