I ended up hooking up my old kill switch and it worked fine. I'm not sure if I connected wrong or .

I connected this unit with one wire to the ignition and the other to the M connector as the instructions require. The wires got so hot I couldn't touch them. I ended up hooking up my old kill switch and it worked fine. Not sure if I wired it wrong or was the thing bad to begin with?
