Review on ๐Ÿ“ฅ M.2 NVMe USB 3.1 Adapter - High Performance 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 Card Reader with M-Key M.2 NVMe to USB Bridge Chip, Compatible with Samsung 950/960/970 Evo/Pro and Other PCI-E Type M.2 SSDs by Daniel Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive adapter with good transmission speed

Nice little adapter and when plugged into my motherboard's USB 3.1 Gen2 port the read speed is 1033 MB/s and the write speed is 1020 MB/s in Crystal Disk Mark. That's pretty close to the theoretical maximum for the port, so I'm happy. The adapter is flimsy so handle it with care and I wouldn't use it as a permanent drive adapter where it can easily be knocked over. But for disc duplicating, overwriting, etc. And for the price I think it's worth the money. For something more durable, it makes sense to get an enclosure to protect the drive.

Pros
  • The adapter only supports M.2 NVME M-Key and M+B SSD (PCI-E NVME-based), does not support B-Key SSD (SATA-based) and M-Key M. 2 ( PCIe AHCI based)
Cons
  • Almost never
