Works well, but make sure you have the right adapter!

works great! Just insert the SSD and connect it to your computer, that's it. The pain for me was figuring out what type of SSD they are, they are very similar, mine didn't say the name anywhere. I suggest looking through your computer's specs until you find the exact style, or you may have to try several before finding the right adapter.

Pros
  • Compatible with Samsung 950Pro/960Evo/PM951/PM961/SM951/SM961/970 EVO/970 PRO and other M.2 SSD with PCI-E interface type (M-KEY) that support 2230/2242/2260/2280 in the Size
Cons
  • are brief instructions

Works fine except. . .

I have accumulated several NVME drives over the last few years. They were all filled until I received this device and it worked as advertised. Trouble is, it's COLD! During the process of multiple connections and disconnections, the USB connector bent and then came off. I would buy it again if it was a little more durable but it's not my friend, I also expected to pay a little more for a more durable block but not for this thing.

Pros
  • Adapter only supports M.2 NVME M-Key and M+B SSD (PCI-E NVME based), does not support B-Key SSD (SATA based) and M-Key M.2 SSD (PCIe AHCI based)
Cons
  • Dear Sir or Madam

Inexpensive adapter with good transmission speed

Nice little adapter and when plugged into the USB 3.1 Gen2 port on my motherboard it reads 1033MB/s and writes 1020MB/s in Crystal Disk Mark. That's pretty close to the theoretical maximum for the port, so I'm happy. The adapter is flimsy so handle it with care and I wouldn't use it as a permanent drive adapter where it can easily be knocked over. But for disc duplicating, overwriting, etc. And for the price I think it's worth the money. For something more durable, it makes sense to get an…

Pros
  • Hot Swap, Plug and Play, no driver required. Direct connection without a USB cable
Cons
  • Almost never

Works well, but handled with care

This really requires an enclosure because when you use it you're actually using the Touch circuit board. As a result, the device has saved me multiple times from having to eject discs to run chkdsk and Disk Utilities to quickly get the laptop up and running again when problems with the hard drive prevented it from running on the computer it was installed on were disk data file. Just to note that in this case it won't help you if the disk is bad. I can't help with a total hard drive failure.

Pros
  • Fast 10Gbps data transfer with USB 3.1 Gen 2 bridge chip, much faster than USB 3.0 or USB 2.0
Cons
  • Factor Set

working well but working delicate

You really need a case for this since you will touch the board when you use it. Did what I needed.

This worked for me to clone a 5X M.2 NVME SSD for some new NUCs I was building. That saved me a lot of time. The only thing that bothers me is that it gets REALLY hot after just one cloning process which only takes a few minutes. I would be very concerned if you had to use this for more than a few minutes at a time as it gets very hot. I also wish they had a fast SSD solution instead of that tiny screw.

Pros
  • hot-swappable, plug and play, no driver required. Direct connection without USB cable
Cons
  • High price
