Terribly cheap canvas. Not for watercolor.
These are absolutely NOT watercolor canvases. The surface is very shiny and water-repellent. This works neither with wet nor with dry canvas. I'll see how they perform with gouache, but I'm not sure if the results will be any different. Unfortunately as an artist I don't have a super high income and I was thrilled with this investment and it TOTALLY failed! I will definitely not be buying from this company again and I will let my fellow watercolorists who have been waiting to see them work assured that they have failed.
- TRIPLE PRIMED GESSO - 8 oz Fine Watercolor Primer, Gesso's exclusive primer, prepares the painting surface for painting with water-soluble paints and exhibits excellent transparency. With the watercolor primer you can correct if necessary. Changing the stroke is easy by removing the paint from the canvas. The surface takes paint well and the colors bloom naturally. Works particularly well with watercolors, creating pleasing color casts, shadows, and unique watercolor painting effects.
