Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Enhanced Phorus PS10 Speaker with Alexa and Play-Fi Wireless Streaming by Scott Morris

Detailed and musical!

I am considering whether to keep Sonos One (pair) or PS10 (pair). They have completely different sound signatures. Sonos has the best soundstage (this is where Trueplay room correction works) and low frequencies. The PS10 is detailed and musical, but not as understated as the Sonos. Moving the PS10 closer to the wall gives me better bass response. When placing your speaker, think about speaker placement. The Sonos has a tweeter and a mid-range driver, while the PS10 has 2 full-range drivers and 2 passive radiators. It depends on preference. PS10 sounds more like HiFi in my opinion. I'm not saying Sonos isn't good. PS10 appeals to me more. The Sonos is good considering its size, but it didn't blow my mind sonically. I consider myself an audiophile with Martin Logan and NAD as my main components. I wanted a wireless speaker for my living room without an amplifier or receiver. I'm still not sure if the PS10 is the speaker I need. Note: I verified with Phorus that PS10 and Pioneer Elite F4 are the same speakers. Forus said they designed the speaker and Pioneer only changed a few elements of the speaker design. The PS10 comes with interchangeable power supplies for the US and Europe, unlike the F4 which was only made for the US market. Why does Pioneer say the passive heatsink is 2.5" while the Phorus website says the PS10 had a 4" heatsink? As I said, Forus told me these are two identical speakers.
