This product was one of the products we had previously purchased. We live in Arizona and it's on the west wall so we weren't too surprised when the old 4 year old SMALL plastic dog door dried out and broke outside. This took a reasonable amount of time. So we ordered another one, medium size this time. A small door ran from one side of the wall to the other. The middle door doesn't. They have been intentionally scaled down so that they will NOT fit completely through the wall. I think that's why you MUST buy an extension cord. Luckily we have log walls and some cement so we filled it in and didn't have to buy a wall extension. But imagine our surprise. Very disappointing. We are moving and looking for other manufacturers. We have five dogs and will be installing two dog doors in the walls of our new home. The product is not bad but we feel it has been used a little. Why change the product in this way? Just to earn a few bucks? Just raise the price a little - don't complicate the installation!
