Review on Alvin PA306 21-inch Wood Pantograph Drawing Tool with Table Clamp, Four Spare Leads, and 25 Ratios: A Precision Artist's Essential by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 3 out of 5

For the money I expected much better quality.

I'm really disappointed in the poor quality considering it cost almost $30. When I read that it's made of wood I thought it would be more durable. I'm almost afraid to push it because I'm afraid it will break. It's like two layers of cork. The holes are not reinforced with metal, so threading in different sized screws will most likely result in them becoming too loose to stay in place. The only thing that bothers me about metal parts is the lead holder. The prongs used to hold the leash don't look very strong and I'm afraid they might break off over time rendering it useless. It will probably only be for a short time and if it falls apart I'll just make my own. There are several videos on YouTube for use if you need instructions as NONE of them exist, or on Alvin's website. You will receive a sheet of paper with assembly instructions and some "helpful tips".
