As someone pointed out in the question and answer, all dimensions are given for this latch except for the most important one - what width between posts is required & Gates to accommodate 3-layer latch sections. The answer, 0.75" minimum, 1.3" maximum between gate and post seems correct to me and I'd love to read that before installing! My gate was about 0.7 from the post: I installed the latch and deadbolt and they worked great. until it rained the next day. The wooden gate was so swollen that the inside edge of the latch touched the inside edge of the bolt and wouldn't close. Bow! I ended up buying a latch with another lipless bolt and everything is fine (except for the extra six holes in my gate, oops). I use a latch in combination with a Lockey closer and it works great - engages smoothly every time and opens easily from either side of the gate. Seems to be a good product overall - just measure first.
