Scale looks good and is all metal. i love this part The scale is extremely inaccurate and cannot hold "zero". There is a rack that moves the indicator arm and they are held in contact by a weak coil spring. The spring is not strong enough to keep the gears in contact. If you bounce off the scale at all, the display jumps the cog a few teeth. There is no way to stop this. Simply lifting the object to be weighed is enough to detach the needle from the gear. I just probably got the scale bad, but quality control didn't validate this device in any way. I returned for a refund.
