I needed a new ottoman to replace an old cube ottoman that my cat had destroyed. I made the mistake of putting the old one next to his scratching post and he must have thought he could scratch the ottoman too! So, before he even showed up, I put his scratching post at the other end of the living room. I was planning on getting a rectangular stool soon (once I move) but until then I needed something. I wanted a stool for storage like before but one with a tray and it was so hard to find a cheap but nice square tray that fits on a cube (15″ × 15″) that isn't ridiculously expensive. When I stumbled upon this, I knew it would work. So it is not only a large storage cube stool with a tray, but also a small sitting stool inside. This is exactly what I needed and looks great in my living room. So far my cat has stayed away *fingers crossed* he thinks it's some kind of table! It's the perfect size for a stool, making it easy to store drinks, remotes, phones, etc. next to my chair and my couch and still use it as a footstool on my couch. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 stars is because there is a material defect or dent from shipping on one side. The downside was that the stool itself wasn't very well protected (no bubble wrap and just plastic) in the box and as the material was only on the frame it was easily damaged. So the side where it is (not too visible anyway) is next to the chair, so it's hidden. Apart from the shield it's a really good ottoman and I'm very happy with it.
