Review on Professional Premium Numbered Colored Schpirerr by Kristen Reid

Amazing quality and price

I will be absolutely honest and tell you in advance that they sent me these pens to test. I will also honestly tell you up front that I told them before they sent them to me that I would never say there that the product is good if it wasn't. I draw with colored pencils and it is important to me that if I recommend a product, I really enjoy using it. I usually use the best branded pens in the world, so I wasn't expecting too much from pens at such an affordable price (they are priced close to Prismacolors). I created the Instagram artwork using only these pens (I didn't even sharpen the edges with my trusty Polychromos). The most amazing thing about these pens is the brightness of the color. They're almost as creamy as the Prismacolor pencils, but the lead is a bit harder so that the details are drawn better. They blend and layer better than Prismacolor and leave no dust. Yes, I would like more colors (but that goes for every set I own!) and I really hope they get fade tested at some point. I didn't have any nasty buildup when I layered. They sharpened well and held the edge well. I was stunned that such a beautiful pencil could be bought for such a small price. Little things include a color on the stem that doesn't match the base color and it would be nice to have color names but they are really minor and it takes five minutes to complete a color chart. To anyone who wants to try colored pencils as a medium, to all painting enthusiasts and hobbyists, I would say that you are welcome to add them to your collection (and I am not being paid to say so). I love these pens.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No finish

They added colour names to the pencil barrels! Yeah!
