Perfect for a poor rooster I know who was forced to live in a vase for a month before his human was born. Betta now lives with a couple of Anubias and a couple of floating plants, three shrimp (his order of invertebrates), a heater and a tiny UL listed Elite Underwater Mini Filter (filled with bio media like Matrix, 500ml/17oz. All in all i spent about $50 to improve the lifespan of this betta you could probably forego the filter and use an air stone/air pump instead but i know more about filters they all fit in the back of the bowl and in the arches of the bowl and some large plants actually make a decent coating on them. I have previously purchased a large Anchor Hocking 2.5 gallon Montana jar with a matte metal betta lid, but the jar was unlike this one great bowl distorted so badly.Highly recommended if you love you have a rooster and want to improve his quality of life My rooster has become much more active and curious, nac hafter he moved into this bowl, which ultimately he makes me happier.
