Good product for cars and car electronics

So you want to add an amplifier and subwoofer but keep the stock radio for now? You will need this or you will splice wires. Not sure if the gain controls affect the main speaker outputs or just the RCA outputs, but I don't think the volume is as high as it was from the factory. Or maybe because of the subwoofer, it just seems so now. Anyway, PAC says the output is linear 20-20kHz BUT this is based on the input and as we all know standard radios are not linear in the output. For example, low frequencies are reduced at higher volumes to protect standard speakers and avoid distortion. What happens then is that even if you have a subwoofer, the bass is still reduced at higher volumes. Trust me, it's miles better than the original, but it's not the same as adding an amplifier and subwoofer to a secondary radio with a flat output frequency. You'd be better off getting an amp with remote gain control, as you'll have to fiddle with it a lot to tame the uneven bass response. However, this is not the fault of this module, it is a normal radio that is causing problems. So if you're not replacing a factory radio but want to add an amp and/or subwoofer without hacking the wiring, this is what you're going to need.
