Well this filter claims to be an effective filter but there are a few things. The stuff that comes out of my faucet still contains an incredible amount of dirt and is actually clogging the flow filters. The Pur filter in particular stopped working after a month. Also, often when I turn it off and on again, a huge amount of brown water comes out and I've never been able to figure out where it came from. Probably a good filter, but if so I can't say when I use it. I change them every 2-3 months. Finally, a related problem is those stupid short, flat-coated flexible hoses that leak out like a sieve half the time. I wore the last one for about a month, and at $10 each, they're damn expensive for something that doesn't prevent leakage. Given that this filter requires one and two of the three flexible hoses I've had to leak like crazy, this is a very poor decision indeed.
