It's nowhere near beyond the usual KVM switch. I've bought them before and they all don't support 4k video, don't have security built in, but for a simple switch you can't beat their price. The Cybex Secure 4 Port DVI is designed for single monitor installations and also features a configurable Dedicated Peripheral Port (DPP). This allows the use of authentication devices such as smart card and biometric readers. As already mentioned, this function is available on the SC840-001 with one monitor instead of two monitors. If you want to run dual monitors and have an HDMI based system while still retaining a Cybex Secure KVM 4 port as well as DPP authentication devices like smart cards and biometric readers then the SC945H-001 can handle it. In addition to the monitor inputs, there are keyboard and mouse inputs, as well as a headphone jack, so you can control more than just the screen. The really great thing about it is that it handles 4K video, which a cheap KVM switch can't handle. However, 4K is capped at 30, but it's UHD at 3840 x 2160 @ 30. So if you need to use different computers, or have a customer base that uses their computers a lot and you need easy access to both, these will be Emerson Network Power KVMs do this do. Simplify your workspace by having no more than one or two monitors. With the latest protection from the National Information Assurance Partnership, it means you can be more secure by connecting a shared peripheral. You might be surprised how heavy the box is for a device of this size. It is built like a tank and will serve you for many years.
