I was very unsure when I received the first time. On most locks, when a button is pressed, the center lock rotates so that it can be inserted into the slot. This block removes the outer pins at the push of a button, and the center doesn't rotate. It was what I hated at first and it's not what I love. You can set your unlock code, and when you enter it, you don't even have to press a button. Plug in and twist. Once it clicks, it locks into place. Then you shuffle the code and you're done. Works great, I've bent and twisted and the insulation is holding up well. Would definitely buy again.
