Review on Skechers Gomel Slip Loafer Men's πŸ‘ž Shoes: An Expected Choice in Loafers & Slip-Ons by Christopher Millet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent shoes, not as light and comfortable as my Skechers Go Walks. Dirt gets stuck in the tread.

These are regular, fairly light and comfortable shoes, but not as light and comfortable as my Go Walk 4. All materials are thicker and stiffer in comparison, and the overall weight is slightly higher. I love that you can make them really wide as I have nerves and tenderness in my feet so the looser the fit the better my books. These ultra-wide shoes aren't as wide as my Skechers Go Walk 4, but they're still loose enough that my feet don't feel pinched or too tight. The leg openings are slightly smaller but manageable. Comfort is ok barefoot on the memory foam, you can feel a slight pressure on the upper of the shoe and there is minimal camber, I think they will soften a little as they break a little. The subtle two tone finish between gray and black gives them a bit of style as I don't think they are meant to look as casual as the Go Walks. The insoles appear to be glued fairly firmly, but can be pulled out. The two things I dislike about them are the same complaints I have about their Go Walks and other branded shoes: (1) There is no loop in the heel. So most of the time to get a grip the edge of the heel of the shoe flexes as you put your foot in and you have to push your toe back to lift it straight up and out or you end up using your toe as the shoehorn. (2) Another serious defect is the pattern on the sole of the shoe. The pattern of sculpted gaps and indentations is just small and large enough that small sticks, rocks and debris get stuck in there only to dry and/or be tracked anywhere. It's not that they really need a profile like all-season radial tires, it just doesn't make much sense. I would be more comfortable with a pattern with shallower grooves to keep dirt and debris out. Otherwise a good shoe for the price but not as light, comfortable and flexible as my Go Walk 4s.
