Review on πŸ”§ Adjustable Universal Server by StarTech Com by Ghostnote Azevedo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor quality control, mediocre design

Instructions useless on their own as the only non-obvious part of the assembly process is where to place the screws and bolts that attach the rail to one of the rails that there are not coated. As I began assembly, I found a warped surface in the forward facing post, rendering the mount unusable. Take this with a grain of salt as I didn't bother to mount it, but the design is questionable: the rail mechanism itself consists of attaching a slide rail to an end rail with locknuts - meaning tightening leads to this , that this requires sharply pull the device back and forth, and also gradually wears down the surface on which the nut is fixed, and thus is loosened. Alternatively, you can keep everything loose and act more smoothly, but that has obvious problems. Summary: For almost $100 you can get a crappy guide to a self-sharpening set of server rails. It's a shame as I usually associate Startech with quality but now I think I only associate it with price.
