I bought this for a wall mounted TV. I installed it on the back of the TV so it wouldn't be visible. As you probably know, the Apple TV is controlled by a Bluetooth remote, so you don't have to point at the remote or be in the same room as the Apple TV. Therefore Apple TV can be hidden out of sight. One of the great things about this bracket is that it comes with 2 Velcro straps that make it easy to attach and detach the bracket to the back of your TV, which is important if you need to take the TV off the wall. Some wall-mounted TVs require you to tilt the TV forward or backward to remove it, and this would be difficult when mounting an Apple TV on the back of a TV. In addition, this mount is well priced and there is really no need to spend more on this type of mount.
