Review on Bosal Moldable Stabilizer Supplies 36 Inch by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's so much fun to work with. See overview for project idea.

I needed this for the courses I was taking. It is fusible on both sides. Place a teflon sheet on the pressing surface and then any size piece of this product that you cut to the size of the fabric you are using. It's going to be hard as stone. Then put the fabric on and press down with a steam iron, the side of the iron facing the Teflon does not stick. The steam makes it softer and more flexible. Once it's secure, turn it over so the fabric side you just glued is now facing the teflon sheet. The other side of the fuse is now facing up. Lay out a piece of fabric to fit, and stick it as on the other side with a steam iron. If you don't have a steam iron, you can give it a little spray with a spray bottle filled with water. It should only work with heat, but works best with some steam. It should now be fused on both sides and be a lot softer than when you started. Now you can draw a thread on it if you like. Keep it level as you sew on the machine. Once you get the look you want, you can cut it into any shape you want. Here is the most interesting. Bring it back to the surface of the press. Take an outstretched damp towel, lay it on top and use a steam iron until it looks (for lack of better words) like wet noodles. Once you have achieved this, remove the towel. Be careful, it's HOT. Maybe you need gloves. Using a jar or bowl as the mold, place a damp, pasta-like cloth over the jar or bowl to create the desired shape for this project. As long as you hold it in place to let it take its new shape, you can dry it faster with a hair dryer or a low-temperature blow-dryer (no burner 🤣). If you want you can give it a free form until it is completely dry. You can also make a few cuts (before the wet pasta stage) to get a different shape than yours. After drying, it is hard as stone. Okay, maybe not as hard as stone, but close. Have fun! You can shape it with your free hand, until completely dry. You can also make a few cuts (before the wet noodle phase) to shape them differently than your shape. After drying, it is hard as stone. Okay, maybe not as hard as stone, but close. Have fun!
