I have been using Baofeng for 15 years and I really like the products. I wanted to write a review to let people know that the signal strength on the internal components of the antenna is incorrect. I bought two radios and they both worked the same way. The workmanship of the product is excellent and I like it, except that even with a larger antenna you cannot use it at any distance. I compared it to my 6R Baofeng, it has reception where the 9R radio doesn't even get a signal. Most people wouldn't know this unless they had other radios. **Please note that I have tested with other antennas larger than 15.5 inches and there is still no difference, so there is something wrong with the mechanics of the antenna system on these radios. I returned mine for a refund. Hope that helps.
