Edit 9/23/21: I downgraded it to 2 stars, gave one to my daughter who uses it all the time and it's starting to fall apart. The cell mount was removed first and snapped onto the hinge. The next step was connecting with a swivel ball (see attached picture). The NASCAR band is holding him together for now. Edit 06/16/2020: I have changed my rating to 5 stars after more experience with the device. My concerns about the telescope lock were unfounded. He turned out to be durable. And the more I thought about the design, a multifunctional tripod built for portability, the more I appreciated the product engineers' design choices to find a compromise between structural design and portability and light weight. No, you can't use it as a car stand, but given the intended use, I liked the device and the higher view. Previous Review: While the concept is great, the execution is the downfall of this device. Biggest gripe is the rotating locking mechanism on the telescopic handle - it just doesn't feel very strong. Not sure about longevity so looks like it would work on a desk while holding a cell phone to be used as a webcam with the IP camera software. It's like those cheap selfie sticks you find in discount stores, so I agree with others, $65 for this device is outrageous, less than $30 would be more reasonable.
