Waterproof pillowcase ideal for children. I have four children and they haul pillows including dragging my pillows to their beds. Besides, kids are dirty. Accidents happen. I can wash the pillow (except for memory foam since memory foam holds so much water), but washing and then drying is long enough and complicated enough to make an entire project out of it. It's not something I want to do in an emergency or urgent. I'm willing to do this once a year, but I don't want to have to wash my pillow as a surprise. So, to keep the pillows clean and to make cleaning up after the kids easier, I use the following system: I put the pillow in a 100% cotton anti-dust mite pillowcase that stays on the pillow at all times and protects it from dust , in a waterproof case. a pillowcase like this in a soft pillowcase, in a pillowcase. For regular washing, I wash the pillowcase. Just in case my kids get dirty I remove everything but the waterproof case and then switch to a replacement waterproof case. Cleaning basically consists of hand washing the waterproof cover and throwing a few small items in the wash. I don't need to clean my pillow. If you have kids, these waterproof pillowcases are great for tidying up (which you need to do with young kids). I would also recommend trying them out for memory foam, whether you have kids or not, simply because memory foam is so difficult to dry after washing. There are two bad styles and one good style when it comes to waterproof pillowcases. Bad style would be plain vinyl or plastic that tears easily. Another bad style would be something like the material of a reusable shopping bag, attached to the outside to a thin piece of plastic on the inside, which tends to cause the layers to separate almost immediately and then easily tear the inner plastic layer. Then there's the good style, which is fabric combined with plastic and basically has a fabric texture. This one from Bargoose is a good style! This is a double woven fabric bonded to a synthetic material. So it feels like fabric, is strong and flexible like fabric, but also waterproof. It looks like good style from Allerease (who make both bad and good waterproof cases) and I expect this Bargoose case will hold up well over time. The zipper on it is not particularly resistant to water or anything else. You can see from the product photos that the zipper is just an old zipper on the short end of the pillowcase. Some pillowcases have velcro that closes the edge of the zipper, but this one doesn't have that. Of course, if the pillow is submerged in water in this cover, water will seep into the zipper. It is therefore not suitable for underwater use. However, it will keep the pillow dry for most household accidents that can happen: children throwing up, bedwetting, spilling a glass of water in bed, and the like. With frequent messy bed accidents, this pillowcase prevents liquid from spilling onto the pillow. This case will be a bit sweaty compared to not having a waterproof pillow. Therefore, in my system, I put on a waterproof pillowcase, then a pillowcase with a lining to absorb sweat and get better friction with the pillowcase, and then a pillowcase. In fact, if the case is waterproof, your sweat won't seep through. It's not as comfortable as a regular pillow, but it's better at protecting against dust and allergies, and is much better for a quick clean up after the kids. This case doesn't wrinkle or anything like that. It doesn't make plastic noises. Other reviews say this cover traps air. It is, but pretty much all the air slowly escapes through the zipper. So you press on the pillow and after a few seconds the air comes out instead of just squeezing. It's the same with all good waterproof cases - if you need a waterproof case, get used to it. 17119, which is their good waterproof coating (they also make bad ones that tear easily and have a different RN number). I think this particular "Bargoose Home Textile - Pillow Protector, Bug Solution, Bug Repellent & Waterproof Zipper Pillow" is of comparable quality. I try to only use standard size pillows so all pillows in my house are interchangeable. What I noticed about Allerease is that they don't always come in larger sizes. you do it It just wasn't available anywhere when I was looking for covers for my royal pillow. I see that this Bargoose comes in regular, queen and king sizes and if this continues this could be a good solid king pillow option. How to clean this case: I usually hand wash this type of case. in a big bucket. I wash it with soapy water, then drain it and then rinse it with clean water several times. You can go through the washing machine but I have a feeling water can collect in it. It won't damage the cover, but it won't work properly because dirty water gets in, which the washing machine doesn't actually wash away, but just sits there. In addition, if you put something with a zipper in the washing machine, you must first zip it up, which does nothing to prevent dirty water from entering the waterproof zipper case. To rinse it, you have to wipe it with your hand. If the thing is really rough, it can be machine washed first and then hand washed/rinsed. Then I hang it to dry inside out until completely dry, then right side out. I try to always have a spare waterproof case with me because then I can put a new one directly on the pillow and not leave it unprotected, and also because I can make sure the case is completely dry after washing and then put it in pillowcases can keep . so it is ready when the next impregnation needs to be renewed. I strongly suspect that putting it in a heated tumble dryer could damage it, for example by melting the impregnation. Being waterproof it doesn't hold much water and so air dries pretty quickly. Bargoose is a legitimate brand. They previously focused on hotels, producing mattress and pillow protectors specifically designed for hotels. Recently they have started selling to ordinary people. I have a few waterproof mattress pads from them and for the most part their stuff was as they promised. If I read carefully before getting anything from Bargoose then I'm getting exactly what I expected. All in all, if you want a waterproof pillowcase, then this is a good option. It's waterproof and built to look like it's going to last. In addition, the label inside the pillow contains all the information about the brand and style. (You might think this is common, but actually internal tags often don't contain all the information, and I often have to write that information on the cover with a marker so that with a good cover I know exactly what it was cover.)
