Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Dell 34" Curved Monitor with 3440X1440 Resolution, Anti-Glare Screen, Tilt Adjustment, and Flicker-Free Technology by Brandon Priday

An excellent gaming monitor that falls short in most other areas.

I'll try to keep it short and sweet, although that's never been my forte. This monitor is great for gaming but falls short in many other areas. First, the contrast ratio is fantastic and visually pleasing, with black levels that are impressive and even. Properties that come with a VA panel. Unfortunately there is a lack of viewing angles. Even with the curve, the image looks noticeably different (in my opinion) in the extreme left and right corners of the screen. It blurs a bit and just doesn't look like the one in the middle. I also found the color reproduction to be mediocre compared to an IPS panel. Colors weren't bad, but they didn't come close to the vivid colors that a good IPS panel can produce. Given these shortcomings, I didn't find this to be a significant upgrade over my old smaller IPS panel, even with improved refresh rates and black levels. I adjusted the settings and calibrated the monitor, but that didn't help much. The point is this. This monitor showcases all the bad qualities of a VA panel, as well as the good ones. Black levels, great! Contrast, damn it! Colour reproduction? so-so. viewing angle? Poor. In games, some of these brief dips were less noticeable, but for regular math I really liked them. I had to send the monitor back. My personal preference? Stick with the high quality IPS panel. Pros: - Contrast/Black levels - Stable refresh rate - Nice design and available USB 3 ports - Quality build quality - Very good for gaming Cons: - General color rendition - Poor viewing angles/full screen uniformity - Text clarity - would be bad for graphic design

Pros
  • Its slim profile takes up minimal desk space.
Cons
  • Limited viewing angles
