Great Gloves: Household Supplies

I'm a DIY and DIY enthusiast, so disposable gloves are a must. I have used nitrile gloves for many years when applying finishing materials to my woodwork. I usually dip a lint-free cotton rag in a jar, pour the finish into it and apply it to the wood by hand. I don't like the finish getting on my hands and making a mess, so I always use thicker nitrile gloves. Over the years I have found 8 mil nitrile gloves to be excellent for my purposes. They hold up well and the finish doesn't bleed through gloves. These gloves work just as well as many other brands I've tried. I have large to very large hands and ordered XL gloves. They are easy to put on and take off and there is a little more room inside the glove to keep my hand from sweating as much. Also, I don't like the feel of tight gloves. I put on a pair the other day while shaking acid off the top of a car battery and terminals (the dealer was asking a lot of money). I then reused that pair to take the bathroom drain apart and clean it, phew. They held up great, didn't crack and still looked new. TIP: I turn my glove box upside down at my carpentry shop so all the dust and dirt doesn't end up in the compartment or on unused gloves.
