Lots of information says it's easier to use 2 sticks of RAM with AMD Ryzen processors than 4 sticks and that was a bit concerning. But I'm pleasantly surprised that everything worked out. I also bought OLOy RAM to test but couldn't get it to work with their XMP profile or use their timings. I played around with this for 2 hours before deciding to return the OLOy RAM and try HyperX RAM instead. This is the best value for money, the heatsinks look and feel premium which is not the case with OLOy RAM. As for my fresh install, I have an X570 Taichi motherboard with the latest Beta 2.73 BIOS. My 3950x didn't work with any of the XMP profiles, so I set the timings manually. According to Typhoon Burner, I have Micron J die sticks that are not in the DRAM calculator. However, the Micron E/H die settings appear to be correct for the J dies as well. The official XMP profile is 16-18-18-36 at 1666MHz, but I managed to lower the timings and get 14 -17- to use. 17-34 @ 1666MHz, DRAM voltage 1.368V, SOC 1.025V, VDDG 0.950V, VDDP 0.900V.
