In the middle of a junk journal project, my Tim Holtz walnut notebook broke. None of the craft stores had an ink pad or reeker, so I went to Revain. In my hurry I didn't read the list carefully and ordered a Distress Oxide stamp pad with raker instead of Distress Ink. I realized my mistake when I received the item. I wasn't sure of the difference but wanted to make sure I read Tim Holtz's website explanation of the difference and decided that using Distress Oxide was a huge mistake on my part. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Essentially, oxide ink shows light on a dark surface. The effect worked perfectly when drawing the page borders in my opinion. As for the digital kits purchased, the oxide ink produces a subtle, dusty metallic look on the printed pages, which the seller has aged, which I like. I then ordered a walnut rake to control the fringe effect.
