Review on ๐Ÿ”ˆ V-MODA REMIX Wireless Hi-Fi Portable Speaker - Black by Richard Deng

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A small price for what it offers

Have been using Vmoda products for over 8 years. I had their headphones, overhead and overhead. I'm used to their sound, booming bass and sense of style in the product itself. The base speaker looks great on its own, it gets more V-Moda look when you buy additional 3D printed stands. But what you really want to know is the sound quality. And guess what, it's disappointing. I am using Fiio X3 gen 1 with various high quality audio tracks ripped from CDs in Apple Lossless format along with regular MP3s. The highs sound trapped, like they're about to erupt, but there's no proper equipment to set them free. The mids are okay, they sound exactly like most V-Moda products. Well Bass, the main force that keeps me buying product after product from these guys. Almost there, almost. I know it's a wireless bluetooth speaker and I can't draw wall power from it to make a 2" speaker sound like my 10" subwoofer. But it just wasn't there, it really depended on who I was playing to hear it. Hip-hop artists tend to be dubious, electronics have been successful. I felt like I was doing better with artists, which I don't normally expect from a vmoda product. I wonder if a daisy chain would help but I could pay for the car and buy gas for a month so wouldn't test until they do version 2. Tested different songs with product and file. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue - All Blues - Lossless (CD) Michael Jackson - BAD - Just good friends - Lossless (Japanese CD copy from the 80s, I want to mention) Daft Punk - Random Access Memories - Within - Lossless ( CD) Alice in Chains - Unplugged - Would You? - Lossless (CD)Ape Escape - Originape Soundtrack - Cryptic Ruins - Lossy (itunes)Rush - Moving Pictures - Tom Sawyer - Lossless (Vinyl Rip)

Pros
  • Built-in VAMP headphone amplifier for headphones and built-in microphone for voice calls
Cons
  • Basically okay, but...
