In general, the ideal pet heating mat is for portable kennel

I have two little terriers that sleep in an enclosed covered patio which gets quite cold in winter. Last year I bought two portable wooden kennels from Pets Fit and two heat mats from another supplier. The kennels are excellent but the heating mats are not so good. The problem with 100% of all other pet heating mats I've researched is the length of the short thermostat wire. The pillows I bought last year had 18 inch thermostat wires that were too short to run outside of the dog kennel and put the thermostat somewhere conveniently accessible AND away from the dogs. The seller of this particular mat couldn't or wouldn't understand the problem. Then this year, almost by accident, I stumbled upon the Namsan Pet heating mat. This mat meets all the right fit and application requirements I was looking for. Pet's Fit is slightly larger than the 24" x 18" heating mat from Namsan and fits quite well. The anti-bite thermostat cable on this rug is approximately 6 feet long; the longest i have ever seen. Since the floor of the kennel is a few inches above the patio floor, I can run the thermostat and cord through the underside of the floor to the back of the kennel, which is against the wall, and mount the thermostat anywhere I want, away from the two little terriers. The digital thermostat has a preset veterinary record number with recommended settings. We had several cold nights and the dogs spent the night comfortably, each in their own heated house. Having only had the mats online for a few weeks it is still a little early for me to judge reliability and future performance but the mats have been working great since I hooked them up and the two little boys really love them. Delivery was quick and efficient. I would recommend this mat to anyone looking for a mat with reasonable thermostat cable length.

Pros
  • . Set the temperature to the highest level when this cat heat mat starts to work until it starts to heat up, then set the temperature required to maintain the set temperature. You may not feel warm to the touch of your hands if pets don't stay on this warm pad because the heat will dissipate quickly on a cold day. So use a blanket or other cover to keep warm.
Cons
  • Difficult to say
