Note: I bought this to go under my desk while I work. I only use it to walk.I'm in my first week of use. So far I like it. There was no assembly, so that was nice. Just put some lubricant (provided) on the belt and go. I'm 5'6 and the stride is ample. I haven't had any issues concerning excessive noise. It is not silent, but nothing above a normal walking sound. I can walk comfortably between speed settings 1.5 and 2.5 and work without interruption. It does like to increase speed periodically on its own, but I'm sure that's just a setting I need to adjust. Be sure to flip the power switch on the unit (in addition to the remote power) to off when not in use as I've noticed the machine doesn't like to hibernate. It will resume operation if you don't turn it completely off. Added about 5K steps to my days so far according to my watch. I haven't followed the tracker on the machine, but it does work. Personally, I wouldn't use this for running as there is no handle to help with balance or to assist with area awareness, and there is no emergency stop. Great for walking though.
