Review on Industrial Dimmable GU10 LED Bulbs: Delivering Equivalent Electrical Performance by Kiesha Butler

Bought these new LED bulbs to replace five 50w halogen bulbs in a five bulb ceiling light which has a max Claimed power of 50 W (for standard halogen lamps). Conventional halogen lamps have always lasted less than a year. These new LED bulbs are just what I needed as they are equivalent to 75W and finally brighten up a dark office space; and as LEDs, they last for years. My old standard dimmer controlled these new LED bulbs just like the old halogen bulbs; no new LED dimmer is therefore required. I just installed it so I can't confirm the advertised lamp life of 16.7 years. The bi-pin sockets snugly fit standard halogen bi-pin bulbs and are easy to install. The only negative I saw is: When you first install the lights and turn them on, there is a slight brightness fluctuation (flicker) for 1 minute. This flickering was only no longer observed during the first use. It also seems to me that the lighting is somewhere between warm and daylight. Please note that these may just be my eyes and this may be because these bulbs are higher wattage than my old 50 watt bulbs. Please note that these GU10 LED bulbs are 2.25 inches long from the tip of the pin to the tip of the glass. My old standard halogen bulbs are 2 inches long. As a result, these new bulbs protrude an additional 0.25 inches from the socket compared to standard halogen bulbs. Overall I am very satisfied and will buy again in 16.7 years.
